Apprenticeship Central has revealed that employers can claim up to £1,000 tax free when taking on an apprentice under the age of 19.
It has highlighted this after its own research revealed that few bodyshops are aware of this potential benefit.
Director Eleanor Barker-Barnes said, “We are not hugely surprised at the lack of awareness. However, part of our role is to bring benefits like this to the top of the industry’s agenda. Our experienced team understands the landscape and is here to help customers to claim this free cash.”
Recent studies found that nearly half of school leavers now consider an apprenticeship as a viable alternative to university while the number of 16-19 year olds employed as apprentices for the academic year 2023/4 surged by almost a third.
