Copart celebrates Ecologi milestone

Copart has underscored its Plan-Net-Zero commitment by planting more than 1,000 trees as part of the Ecologi platform.

The trees have been planted in the UK, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Tanzania, Senegal, and Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, Copart has supported the prevention of six tonnes of CO2 emissions from being emitted through donating to two verified carbon avoidance projects – Solar PV electricity generation in Indonesia, and Protection of the Matavén forest in eastern Colombia.

Jane Pocock, CEO of Copart UK & Ireland, said: “Copart has always been committed to environmental sustainability and we’ve played a critical role in the automotive circular economy since our inception in 1982, enabling the recycling and reuse of vehicles and automotive parts, while facilitating access to transportation around the world.

As a global leader in our field, our customers, partners, and stakeholders quite rightly expect us to continue leading by example, so we continuously review every aspect of our operations to identify more ways in which we can be a more sustainable business. Investing into Ecologi is yet another way we can make a tangible difference to the environment alongside our other Plan-Net-Zero initiatives.”
