GT Motive Enhances Commitment to Accuracy, Accessibility and Transparent Pricing

GT Motive is on a mission to transform the industry – making the most accurate estimation technology accessible to every stakeholder, no matter the economic landscape.

Accuracy and reliability are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why, effective Monday 21st April, we’ve implemented a 5.1% update to paint material pricing across our platform, ensuring that our users produce the most precise and current estimates.

While the 5.1% figure serves as a general benchmark, impacts will vary based on specific factors like paint type and operation method. With this adjustment, GT Motive continues to support users in producing trustworthy, up-to-date repair estimates built on a foundation of unrivalled accuracy and reliability.

GT Motive Freezes Prices – Again

GT Motive is proud to announce that we are once again freezing our prices, reaffirming our commitment to delivering outstanding value to our customers. With our industry facing ongoing economic uncertainty, this freeze ensures continued access to our market-leading estimating platform, without the worry of unexpected cost increases.

GT Motive customers only pay for what they use – there are no hidden fees or opaque surcharges. Our transactional pricing approach means that users have full clarity and control, avoiding the complexity and unpredictability that often surrounds fees in this market.

Our focus remains clear: to provide the most accurate and innovative estimating solution at the best possible price. We are here to support our customers through every challenge, helping them navigate the current financial climate with confidence.

2025 promises to bring exciting new features and strategic collaborations that will further enhance user experience and drive efficiency across the automotive industry.

“At GT Motive, we believe that accuracy and accessibility shouldn’t come at a premium. The update to paint material pricing reflects our ongoing investment in data precision, enabling users to produce estimates they can truly rely on.

At the same time, our price freeze ensures that access to these advancements remains consistent and affordable, no matter the challenges facing our customers.

And with clear, transparent transactional pricing, our customers can be confident they’re only paying for what they use, with no hidden surprises.

These decisions are a clear reflection of our long-term commitment: to transform the industry with dependable tools that support both operational excellence and financial stability.”

Silverlake powers up with Team BRIT

Hampshire based Silverlake Automotive Recycling, has joined forces with Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers, in a powerful partnership that champions accessibility, community, and sustainability.

Under the agreement, Silverlake will sponsor Fareham-based Team BRIT driver Paul Fullick, and supply the team with quality-graded, warranty-assured, reclaimed car parts, cutting repair costs and carbon emissions as the team races head-to-head with able-bodied competitors.

“This isn’t just sponsorship,” said Allen Prebble, Managing Director at Silverlake. “It’s a shared mission to break barriers, both on the track and in society. We’re proud to back Paul, whose determination and grit are an inspiration, and we’re thrilled to help Team BRIT shift motorsport towards a greener, more inclusive future. Our shared community values and desire to innovate and protect the environment will see this collaboration go from strength to strength.”

The partnership builds on a strong foundation. Last year, Silverlake provided Fullick with salvaged First Aid kits for a humanitarian mission to Ukraine – a gesture that sparked a deeper connection rooted in shared values of community, innovation, and resilience.

Team BRIT Principal, Mike Scudamore added: “With Silverlake on board, we’re not just building more eco-friendly cars – we’re building a more accessible and sustainable sport.  This partnership and our team success prove that recycled doesn’t mean second-best – it means smarter, leaner, and greener.”

Silverlake’s involvement in motor sport extends beyond Team BRIT.  The company also sponsors the C1 Racing Series, providing budget-conscious drivers with access to competitive racing and cost-effective reclaimed parts, bringing the circular economy to the racing circuit and aligning with motorsport’s shift toward environmental responsibility.

Driver Paul Fullick, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and was racing within weeks of leaving hospital, sees the collaboration as game-changing. “Silverlake’s support is personal. I’ve known them for 35 years, they helped me with Ukraine, and now they’re helping us change lives through racing.  As well as our shared community ethos, our partnership has a lot of common ground.  Three of our race cars are recycled road cars and we recycle used parts wherever possible, Silverlake’s expertise with this will be invaluable going forward.  Having this support not only helps us achieve more, it also means a lot to have like-minded people with us on the journey.  Together, we’re proving that disability isn’t a limitation, and that sustainability belongs on the podium.”

Team BRIT are next out racing at Silverstone on Saturday 3 May.  They will be cheered on and closely followed by the Silverlake team who are racing in the Silverlake C1 Endurance Series 24-hour race at Silverstone that weekend.

Repair sector urged to act now to secure apprenticeship talents

As exam season nears, vehicle repair employers are being urged to act fast to secure the best young talent through apprenticeships before the summer rush.

According to Apprenticeship Central, a surge in student interest means businesses that recruit early will be best placed to attract high-quality candidates.

Eleanor Baker Barnes, Commercial Director at Apprenticeship Central, said: “We’re already seeing a significant number of candidates reach out to us to discuss apprenticeship routes, and decisions are being made now – employers who move early will have their pick of the very best candidates.”

Recent data shows that 41% of young people exploring post-school options are now considering apprenticeships. With interest peaking during the summer term, Apprenticeship Central sees this as a golden opportunity for employers to future-proof their workforce.

Apprenticeship Central states that ambitious, work-ready individuals want to earn while they learn and are ready to start building their careers, and is warning repairers not to wait until summer, by which time many top-tier candidates may already be placed.

Apprenticeship Central specialises in apprentice recruitment and retention across the vehicle repair sector. Their fully outsourced service takes on the legwork of hiring – from initial business consultation to a tailored recruitment campaign, screening, pre-employment programmes and final interviews.
