Copart UK is doubling its operational capacity in Scotland with the development of a new 31-acre site in East Kilbride.
The new facility will add to Copart’s existing Operation Centre in Whitburn and its vehicle recycling centre in Inverkeithing.
Expected to be operational by the winter, East Kilbride will enable Copart to handle around 100,000 cars in the country every year, and continues its ambitious growth and investment programme that includes land acquisition with continuous improvement at existing sites.
Jane Pocock, CEO of Copart UK & Ireland, said, “Works are now well underway in East Kilbride, further strengthening our unrivalled operational capabilities in Scotland in line with the continued growth of the UK car parc and the ever-changing needs of our customers.
“This 31-acre site will provide annual storage capacity for over 49,000 vehicles and with extreme weather events increasing in Scotland, the provision of latent storage capacity is more important than ever.”
