Nearly £20,000 has so far been raised by Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s inaugural five-a-side charity football tournament in support of Insurance United Against Dementia.
Insurance United Against Dementia is an Alzheimer’s Society movement created and championed by leaders from across the insurance sector, which aims to raise £10m to find vital research to tackle dementia.
Taking place on 9 May at Goals for Birmingham, the tournament saw 16 teams compete to raise money for a worthy cause.
After more than 70 matches and 264 goals, Chris Brown’s team representing Enterprise’s Northwest group took the trophy ahead of Olly Chamber’s team of customers and partners of Enterprise’s technology arm Entegral.
Stuart Sandell, Assistant Vice President for Replacement Sales at Enterprise Rent-A-Car said. “It was a very exciting and enjoyable day, and I had no idea there was so much football talent in the industry. I want to say a huge thank you to all our customers, colleagues, business partners and the team from Insurers United Against Dementia, Alzheimer’s Society and Enterprise who made this day happen.”
Steve Cross, Group Head of Claims at Markerstudy, added, “This was a great opportunity to come together as an industry to fundraise for the fight against an illness that affects so many people. As an industry we have strength in numbers and events like this show what we can achieve when we work together. It was also a lot of fun and a great way to network with colleagues.”
