Toyota is inviting bodyshops to join its new total loss avoidance scheme which it claims can generate significant additional revenue for repairers.
The scheme has already processed over 40,000 Toyota and Lexus estimates with more than 650 vehicles that could potentially have been write offs being repaired instead.
That represents 41% of vehicles that might previously have been written off, with an additional £2.6m generated in repair revenues.
The company said, “With new vehicle supply being still difficult, there is appetite from insurers, customers and bodyshops to avoid Total Loss wherever possible. Bodyshops are benefiting from increased repairs based on a system to save vehicles from being written off which is increasing parts profit along with labour and paint sales.”
