Accident repair volumes suffered a double digit drop in July, according to the latest Audatex data analysis by Trend Tracker.
In June, Trend Tracker reported repair volumes had jumped to a high of 93% of June 2019 levels but the latest data highlights this has since reduced – an observation made by Richard Steer, CEO of Steer Automotive during an ARC360 On Demand broadcast 14 July. “In June – repair volumes jumped up to 93% Vs June 2019 – we had restrictions lifted, pent up demand from lockdown easing, school runs and a greater number of people commuting to work,” explained Paul Sell, Director and Co-Owner of Trend Tracker. “But July has brought school holidays, improved weather and staycations.”
Despite the reduction, Trend Tracker still predicts a return to c85% of pre-pandemic volumes before the end of the year.
